This past Sunday, 6/6, we had an Outreach Committee Meeting at The Blue Point Bible Church. The three (3) focuses we had were:

1.) The Attic Ministry

2.) Saturate/Bless Ever Home

3.) #ProjectRestore – being involved where God is involved (other ministries, activities, and efforts)

JUNE

  • Currently we are planning an evening in the next week of so for the  ringing of the bell to mark the 600,000+ lives that have been lost in the United States due to COVID-19.
  • This coming Sunday, 6/13, we will have a time marked out in the evening to pray over and strategies our efforts of saturation and Bless Every Home. Consider joining us for this special time of prayer and strategic planning at 6pm.
  • The next XD Movement event focused on “set-apart discipleship” at BPBC on Saturday, June 19th at 7pm. Considering joining us for this time of learning and examining ourselves.

JULY

  • Our next pop up thrift shop (The Attic) outreach event is being set for Sat., July 10th (most likely at Patchogue LIRR). We also talked a bit about in months to come opening up the building, and evening the parking lot to allow for those in need to come and shop for stuff (we are aiming for later July/August). We will continue to collect and sort through donations (anything and everything, plus non-perishable food).
  • Our church library is currently being renovated and we are hoping that by early July it will be completely done and ready for not only books to be rented, but also for lounging and reading.
  • Looking toward the months of July/August we are hoping to host an outreach event in cahoots with Saturate NY’s “Jesus Summer”. We had a bit of talk about a potential “Rummage Sale” (further review of BPBC’s Consitition will be had).

AUGUST

  • We continue to host AA, HA, and NA at BPBC, and to further our efforts of wanting to seeing recovery and society in our society, will will mark out National Overdose Awareness Day (August 31). We are looking to possibly have a guest speaker and a time of prayer just for those affected by overdose on Sunday, August 29th. Also, we may work toward organizing a kickball tournament (for all ages) to promote fun and the cause of overdose awareness. More info soon.
