Blessings in Christ,
It is my hope that each of you enjoyed the week and that the snow was a joy rather than a frustration. I know for many the snow brings reminders of Christmas in their youth. May seasonal joy, and for some, seasonal hurt, lead each of us to thoughts of Jesus Christ, the reason for the season.
I have a few announcements and resources to share.
Tomorrow, 12/19 – we will have our Saturday Morning Bible Study at 9am.
Sunday, 12/20 – we will have our Worship Service at 10:30am, as well as our Common Prayer session at 6pm.
This week to come, “Christmas week”, we will have a variety of outreach and worship opportunities to participate in.
There is still ample opportunity to help us reach our donation goal regarding 50 boxes online to Operation Christmas Child. If you choose to donate online, your can visit the following link to “build a box”, https://build-a-shoebox.samaritanspurse.org/goal/my-goal/5b344f02-6c0d-4863-880c-3d1af698897b/6bb33755-c6b5-4854-a536-9babf2908bf8
On Tuesday, 12/22 – Thursday, 12/24, we will have an outreach spot set up for our 1st Annual Under the Tree Christmas Outreach. Look for the tree at Patchogue Train Station on those dates, from 1pm – 4pm, and find gifts for all ages, free winter clothing, and free non-perishable foods. We are also looking for those who might be willing to volunteer time to monitor the tree and bring Christmas cheer to those who come to receive. (Please see and share attached graphic).
On Thursday, December 24th, we will have our Christmas Eve Worship Service outside by the bonfire from 6:30pm – 7:15. Consider joining us for a time of singing and exhortation to bring in the worship of our Savior this Christmas season. Please dress warm. We will have hot chocolate available (along with coffee and tea).
Also, on Sunday, December 27th, we will have a Post-Christmas Giving Game during our worship service time at 10:30am. There is still time to consider purchasing a gift for the giving game between $20-$50. Simply bring it to church and let Pastor Mike know.
I look forward to fellowshipping with each of you this week and week to come at The Blue Point Bible Church. Consider one of the many options put before you to gather in worship or to simply serve this Christmas season.
By His ever-renewing mercy,
Pastor Michael Miano
